Fishing Tackle | Hard Baits | Jigs
Hair jigs, also called feather jigs, are very popular for a variety of fish. Most of the smaller jigs work well for several types of panfish such as crappie, perch, bluegill and other sunfish. Bigger fish such as largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and northern pike are targeted with the bigger hair jigs. Any type of hair jig that resembles a bait fish has a chance to get eaten by any type of fish that feeds on other fish, so there are a number of species that we haven’t listed that can also be caught with a hair jig.

Rod, Reel & Line
Hair Jigs are usually used on spinning gear with light line. Fish them under a bobber, on a drop shot rig or by themself and you’ll be able to catch just about any fish that will eat a minnow. With the heavier hair jigs, anglers do use heavy line and they target game fish such as bass, northern pike and muskie.
