Welcome to our Charlevoix, MI Fishing Home Page

The Charlevoix Area is a gorgeous area with plenty of water as the town of Charlevoix sits on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan, Lake Charlevoix and Round Lake.  It has been named one of “America’s Prettiest Towns” by Forbes, the second “Best Yachting Towns in the World” by Yachting magazine and the “Best Area for a Vacation Home” by Detroit Home Magazine.  This is an outstanding destination for planning a vacation or weekend getaway.  The fishing is also very good here for a variety of different fish.

Salmon & Trout Fishing

Chinook salmon, coho salmon, brown trout, lake trout and steelhead are all possible in the waters around Charlevoix.  In this part of the state, the lake trout fishing can be very good. Most anglers target salmon and trout by trolling out in Lake Michigan.  At the end of the summer and into the fall, coho and chinook salmon do move into Lake Charlevoix and eventually found closer to the Boyne River in the East Arm and the Jordan River in the South Arm as they move in to spawn.

Lake Charlevoix

Lake Charlevoix has some deep water and a variety of fish to catch.  Year round, you’re going to find smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, crappie, perch, bluegill, channel catfish, lake trout and brown trout.  At the end of summer and into the fall, coho and chinook salmon move into Lake Charlevoix from Lake Michigan as they get ready to spawn.

Inland Lakes

There are many inland lakes that are also available if you want to fish some of these smaller waters.  Anglers target largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye, crappie, perch, bluegill and other sunfish in the area waters.

Jordan & Boyne Rivers

The Jordan and Boyne Rivers are the main tributaries feeding Lake Charlevoix.  Both streams are excellent trout fisheries and they receive a run of coho and chinook salmon in the fall.
