Welcome to our Sandusky, Ohio Fishing Home Page

Sandusky, Ohio is home to one of most exciting roller coaster parks in the U.S. (Cedar Point). This area is also home to some spectacular fishing if you can find some time to get away from the theme park and out onto the water. Walleye, smallmouth bass and perch are the primary species of fish here.

Walleye Fishing

The walleye fishing is very good here on Lake Erie. In the spring and fall, anglers don’t have go as far offshore to find some active walleye, but in the summer, you will definitely have to go further offshore to fill your limit consistently. Charters will consistently fish the offshore structure in this area during the summer time. There are many bigger islands here with Pelee Island being a popular island to fish in Ontario waters.

Yellow Perch Fishing

You can catch yellow perch here from spring through fall, however, the fall is known as one of the best times to target perch in the Sandusky area. There are charters though that target and catch plenty of perch from spring through fall year after year, so the fish are here if you’re interested in targeting them.

Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Many anglers target smallmouth bass in this area. The rocky shorelines and offshore structures will hold plenty of smallmouth bass. Spring and fall gives anglers more options for fishing closer to shore, however, in the summer, the better bite will be coming from the offshore waters. There are several islands to fish in this area and Pelee Island has been a consistent smallmouth bass spot for a long time.

Sandusky River

The Sandusky River is known for its spring spawning runs of walleye and white bass.
