Welcome to our Steinhatchee, FL Fishing Home Page
Steinhatchee is a remote village located on Florida’s Big Bend. This village is known for its scalloping and fishing. You won’t find tons of options for lodging, boat rentals, fishing charters, etc., but you will find enough here to plan a great fishing trip.
Anglers target redfish, sea trout, grouper, snapper, sheepshead, kingfish and a variety of other fish in this area. Fishing is good inshore and offshore and there are enough fishing charters in the area to help you get out on the water.
Steinhatchee gives anglers access to tons of water inshore with the river here. Redfish and sea trout are the primary species of fish here. Flounder are here too in good numbers inshore. There are a lot of other fish that can be caught in this area, however, the fish listed here are some of the other fish that anglers enjoy to catch when they can find them in the area. With so many species of fish to catch, you have a lot of options in the river.
Deep Sea / Offshore Fishing
Steinhatchee doesn’t have a ton of deep water close in, but there are enough structures to fish here offshore that anglers have a lot of success fishing for a variety of different fish. Some of the popular fish that anglers target offshore here are grouper, snapper, cobia, king mackerel, king mackerel, sheepshead, mangrove snapper and others. The Sea Hag Marina’s Offshore Fishing page has some great information to go along with numerous GPS points that will help you have more success if you are fishing offshore without a fishing charter.
