Primary Species of Fish
Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Muskie & Walleye
The primary species of fish that anglers target in this area are smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, muskie and walleye. Many people come to this area to target walleye and muskie, but the bass fishing has gotten so good up here that many anglers are now planning trips here to target both species of bass.
Secondary Species of Fish
Northern Pike, Crappie, Perch, Bluegill
Depending on where you are fishing and when, you may do very well with some of the secondary species of fish here. You are going to find panfish throughout the area lakes, however, they big fish can be hit or miss depending on the year. Some lakes in this area do have some very good crappie fishing though. For the northern pike anglers, you can catch them in many different lakes throughout the county, however, you don’t hear about too many big pike being caught here. The muskie fishing is better than the pike fishing, but you can definitely go out and catch plenty of pike if that’s what you want to do.
