Welcome to our Kawartha Lakes Fishing Home Page

The Kawartha Lakes are a chain of lakes in south central Ontario, Canada. The area is beautiful and there are plenty of people in this region, so if you’re looking for an Ontario fishing getaway where you can get away, but not feel completely away from everything, this may be a destination for you. There are many lakes in this region to fish whether you are on the chain or not. Good boat launches can be found on many of the lakes in this region as well, so you have plenty of options for fishing here.  Anglers target northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, muskie and more.

Primary Species of Fish

Walleye, Muskie, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie

The area lakes are known for their fishing, but every lake doesn’t fish the same.  There is some good muskie fishing on some of these lakes.  Northern pike are available, but not in all of the lakes, so you have to do your homework to learn about the better pike lakes if you want to target them.  This area is very good for bass fishing and you can catch both species of bass here.  Walleye and crappie are popular species of fish among anglers looking for a fish fry.  The walleye fishing does not compare to some of the better known walleye lakes in Ontario, but there are still decent to good numbers of walleye in many of the lakes in the area.  There are some quality walleye in many of the lakes as well.
