Welcome to our Haliburton County, Ontario Fishing Home Page

Haliburton County is located about 2.5 to 3 hours away from Toronto.  This area is known better as the Haliburton Highlands and it is one of the higher points on the Canadian Shield.  This area is beautiful and it offers so much outdoor recreation with all the lake in the area.  Part of the county is located within Algonquin Park as well, which is an awesome wilderness area to explore.

Primary Species of Fish

Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, Trout

The Haliburton Highlands is a very good area for largemouth and smallmouth bass.  There are so many lakes with good numbers of them and some big bass too that you have a lot of options when visiting this area.  Walleye are in many of the lakes and there is some pretty good walleye fishing here as well, but the bass fishing is better.  Northern pike are found in most of the lakes in the area and some big fish are caught here throughout the fishing season.  There are also some lakes in the area with trout fishing.  Anglers target lake trout, rainbow trout and brook trout in some of the lakes up here.
