Welcome to our Sarasota, FL Fishing Home Page

Sarasota is considered the cultural capital of Florida.  Many wealthy families make Sarasota their winter vacation destination.  The nearby keys have white sand beaches and plenty of recreational opportunities.  Siesta Key is famous for Siesta Beach, which is located in Sarasota.  It’s a great beach for families.

Fishing is very popular here with excellent inshore and offshore fishing available. There are plenty of charters that will take you out for a species-specific trip or for whatever is in season.

Inshore Fishing

Sarasota is home to Sarasota Bay, which has some excellent inshore fishing for a variety of different fish. Some of the popular fish to catch inshore are snook, redfish, sea trout and tarpon. You may also catch sheepshead, ladyfish, pompano and jack crevalle to go along with other species of fish too. Make sure to fish the tidal changes as they usually provide the best fishing conditions for most species of fish inshore.

Nearshore Fishing

The nearshore fishing can be very good in the Sarasota area just off the beaches. The popular fish that most anglers target nearshore are grouper, snapper, kingfish, cobia, Spanish mackerel and goliath grouper. The time of year will dictate what fish will be more prevalent, but you can catch fish nearshore year-round in this area.

Deep Sea / Offshore Fishing

There is some very good fishing in the offshore waters around Sarasota and there are several deep sea fishing charters that can take you out for a fishing trip.
