Lake Tuscaloosa


Lake Tuscaloosa is located 5 miles north of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  The lake cover close to 6,000 total surface acres and has 177 miles of shorleine.  The upper reaches of the lake provides the better fishing opportunities on Lake Tuscaloosa.



Holt Lake


Holt Lake is a modest-sized reservoir that covers almost 3,300 surface acres on the Black Warrior River just north of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  This lake is used for flood control and it is a popular lake for recreation.  The fishery is solid for largemouth bass and spotted bass.



Bankhead Lake


Bankhead Lake is a nice-sized reservoirs that covers around 9,200 total surface acres and it is the 2nd largest lake on the Warrior River.  It is located about 15 miles from Birmingham and 30 miles from Tuscaloosa.  The fishery is solid for largemouth bass and spotted.  Hybrid striped bass, crappie, catfish, rainbow trout, bluegill and other sunfish round out the fishery here.



Lake Nicol


Lake Nicol was completed in 1954 and serves as a backup for Lake Tuscaloosa. It is a smaller lake that covers 384 acres.  It has some very deep water and some beautiful scenery.  It is a good lake for anglers to get out here and fish in a smaller boat.



Lake Harris


Harris Lake, completed in 1929, is 220 acres in size and it is a popular lake for swimming for using smaller boats, kayaks and stand up paddle boards.  The lake has plenty of depths to hold some decent fish as well.
