The Rim Country is referred to a 50 mile radius around the town of Payson, Arizona. The town sits in the shadow of the Mongollon Rim, which is the transition point where the Colorado Plateau drops down to a natural wonderland before transitioning again to the desert landscapes that are common in Arizona. The higher elevations are popular spots to hang out in the summer as the higher elevations provide cooler temperatures that are welcomed during the hot, summer weather. The area lakes, rivers and streams provide anglers some exciting fishing opportunities for trout, panfish, bass and more.
