The Chattahoochee River is a popular river for trout fishing that runs through the city of Atlanta.  It is a popular winter fishing destination, however, you can catch trout year round as the cool waters provide anglers with a unique fishery so close to a big city.  At Buford Dam, water is released from the depths of Lake Lanier, which creates a good trout fishery that extends into Atlanta.
