Salmon & Trout Fishing
South Haven offers some good salmon and trout fishing out of this port. Anglers target chinook salmon, coho salmon, lake trout, steelhead and brown trout in the waters of Lake Michigan. You will find plenty of charters that operate out of South Haven to help you plan a trip.
Smallmouth Bass Fishing
The smallmouth bass fishing can be good on Lake Michigan, but it’s not the primary species of fish in this area. Some anglers do report catching some smallmouth bass along the shorelines or out in their boats, however, this area is known more for its salmon and trout fishing.
Perch Fishing
Perch fishing can be very good on Lake Michigan. Most anglers report better success farther offshore than around the shorelines. If you can find the schools of perch, you may end up catching some nice jumbo-sized fish.
