Welcome to our South Padre Island Fishing Home Page

South Padre Island is a resort community in the very southern part of Texas.  It is a very popular vacation destination and spring break destination for college students.  There are many resort hotels and condos to go along with plenty of restaurants, shopping, recreation and entertainment.  Fishing and boating is very popular in the area with many inshore and offshore fishing charters, marinas, boat rentals and even a fishing pier.

Anglers target a variety of fish here.  There are so many options.  The inshore fishing can be very good for redfish, sea trout and other fish too.  For the shore anglers, there are miles of beaches and piers available here.  For the nearshore and offshore crowd, there are so many fishing charters available here to help you experience an awesome fishing vacation.

Inshore Fishing

Redfish, speckled trout and flounder get the most attention along the Texas coast among inshore anglers and that goes for the South Padre Island area as well.  Laguna Madre offers some excellent bay fishing opportunities.  Other fish you may catch in the bay are snook, tarpon, jack crevalle, sheepshead and black drum.  There other species of fish here to catch as well.  Whether you are fishing the docks, inlets, passes, jetties, the many little islands or flats, there’s somewhere you can go to catch some fish here inshore.

Nearshore Fishing

Nearshore, anglers can target a variety of fish along the beaches. The inshore and offshore fishing may get a lot more attention than the nearshore fishing here, but nearshore, tarpon and cobia do generate plenty of interest when they are in the area. Fishing from spring through fall will give you the best chance to catch fish nearshore because there are more species of fish in this area during these months. Some of the other fish that you can catch nearshore are grouper, snapper, kingfish, Spanish mackerel and more.

Deep Sea / Offshore Fishing

Anglers will fish the offshore structures that will hold many different species of fish. The target species will vary depending on the seasons, but some of the popular fish that are caught offshore are grouper, snapper, cobia, amberjack, king mackerel, barracuda, sharks, tuna, sailfish, marlin and others.

Surf & Pier Fishing

This area has plenty of options for shore fishing.  Whether you are fishing from the piers or jetties, shore anglers can catch a variety of fish such as trout, flounder, redfish, sheepshead, jack crevalle, black drum.  Snook and tarpon are also possible depending on the season.
