Welcome to our Hawaii Fishing Home Page

People travel to Hawaii from all over the world.  Hawaii is a great vacation destination.  On your next trip to Hawaii, make sure to plan some fishing time.  There are fishing charters available to help make your trip a memorable one.  Hawaii is known for its excellent deep sea fishing for billfish, tuna, mahi mahi, ono and several species of shark.  Because the ocean bottom drops off fast around the Hawaiian Islands, fishing charters don’t have to travel too far offshore to catch fish.

Fish Kona

There are 5 huge mountain masses that protect the coast from the winds.  This keeps the sea conditions calm which makes navigating the waters around Kona much easier. Fishing is very good for a variety of species such as 6 species of billfish, tuna, mahi mahi, ono and several species of shark.  When fishing offshore, you never know what you’re going to catch.  The fishing is always exciting on the Big Island.  There are also a variety of bottom fish to catch as well.

Fish Kauai

Kauai fishing is considered some of the best among the islands of Hawaii.  The remoteness of the island makes it an excellent spot for big game sport fish.  Kauai is the first major island over thousands of miles of oceans in the north and west pacific basin.  There is very deep water on all sides which also helps make this such a good fishing area.  You can catch a variety of species such as the skipjack and yellowfin tuna, the mahi mahi or dolphin fish, the ono also known as wahoo, the pacific blue marlin and other sport fish and big game fish of the Pacific.

Fish Lanai

Lanai is a small island located very close to Maui.  There are only a few hotels and one charter service that we have listed for this island.  The island is very remote and peaceful and it makes a nice getaway from the crowds.  Many people come over from Maui to spend the day biking, hiking, scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, golfing or just hanging out around the water.  There are a couple of luxury resorts here, so if you are planning to stay on the island, you won’t be disappointed.  As far as the fishing goes, you’re still in Hawaii.  The fishing is excellent for a variety of offshore species and there are plenty of fishing charter services on Lanai.

Fish Maui

The island of Maui offers some fantastic scenery, tons of outdoor activities and some great fishing. Most of the fisherman target big game fish such as marlin (a’u), tuna (skipjack, aku, yellowfin ahi, kawakawa), wahoo (ono), and mahi-mahi (dolphin/dorado).

Fish Molokai

Molokai is a smaller island that is located close to Maui and Lanai.  This island is a good place to get away from the daily grind.  You won’t find the crowds on Molokai.  The pace is slower here making it a great place to relax.  You can arrive by plane or by a ferry that ships off from Maui.  There are plenty of outdoor adventures here to keep you busy.  Water sports are popular.  People enjoy kayaking and fishing.  The few charters that are available can put you on some nice fish.  Offshore fishing is very good off of this island.

Fish Oahu

If you are looking for an exotic vacation destination with tons to do, Oahu is the place to go.  There is so much to do on this island from outdoor adventures, swimming, scuba diving or snorkeling off the beaches, helicopter rides, dancing, relaxing in a luxury hotel, boating and fishing.  The offshore fishing is incredible off of Oahu.  There are a number of fishing charters to choose from in the Waikiki / Honolulu area.  There are a variety of fishing charters that offer deep-sea fishing, bottom-fishing, light tackle fishing as well as tag and release fishing for some of the huge fish that are available.  Some of the popular species are mahi mahi (dorado), Ahi (yellowfin tuna), Ono (Wahoo), and the ultimate sport fish: the Pacific Blue Marlin.
