The Clearwater-Pipestone Chain of Lakes is a chain of 11 lakes that offers some excellent fishing for a variety of fish species. While there are 11 lakes on the chain, there are 7 lakes that are easier to access that are fished by most anglers. The upper lakes are Clearwater Lake and Pipestone Lake, which are connected by a mechanical portage. There is also a mechanical portage that connects Clearwater Lake to south lakes: Rice Lake, Lake Despair, Footprint Lake, Jackfish Lake and West Jackfish Lake.
The fishing is good for walleye, northern pike, muskie and smallmouth bass. You can find some largemouth bass here as well to go along with lake trout and yellow perch too.
