Welcome to our Everglades City, FL Fishing Home Page

Everglades, Florida and the 10,000 islands provide one of the most unique fishing experiences in the country.  We ranked this destination fairly low considering how amazing the fishing is in this area.  The problem with this area is that you don’t have nearly as many options when it comes to businesses serving this area.  Once you are out here fishing, it can be one of the more amazing fishing vacations you will ever take, however, there are several precautions you should take before venturing out in this area.

The islands offer some spectacular inshore fishing for snook, tarpon, redfish, trout and many other species of fish.  Offshore, anglers target snapper, grouper, cobia, permit, amberjack, king mackerel, goliath grouper and others.  This area is very remote, so we definitely recommend hiring a fishing charter for first time visitors.

Inshore Fishing

The inshore fishing is spectacular in the Everglades, Florida & 10,000 islands area. Chokoloskee Island is the gateway to exploring this area. Anglers have the option to fish thousands of mangroves islands which will hold a variety of different fish throughout the year. There are also tidal rivers that flow in and out of the backcountry that offer some excellent fishing. Mix in the oyster bars, the flats, pot holes, river mouths and feeder creeks and this area is an inshore angler’s dream come true. Some of the most popular fish that anglers target here inshore are snook, redfish, sea trout and tarpon. Anglers can also target sheepshead, ladyfish, pompano, snapper, jack crevalle and even grouper.

Nearshore Fishing

The deep sea fishing can be very good just offshore in this area. There are natural and artificial pieces of structure that will hold tons of fish with many different species of fish sharing the same pieces of structure. The target species will vary depending on the seasons, but this area will provide plenty of action year-round. Many of the fishing charters will target grouper, snapper, cobia, king mackerel, permit, amberjack and goliath grouper. Some other fish that are targeted offshore are barracuda, sharks and more.

Deep Sea / Offshore Fishing

You aren’t going to find surf & pier fishing in the Everglades, City area and 10,000 Islands area. If you want to visit this area and still do some surf and pier fishing on your trip, you may want to check out Marco Island and Naples. There are some great options for fishing without a boat in these destinations.
