Welcome to our Pinedale, Wyoming Fishing Home Page

Pinedale, Wyoming is a small town in Sublette County.  It is the gateway to the Wind River Mountains and is home to some outstanding outdoor recreational activities.  Fishing and hunting are very popular here and there is enough civilization here where you can get away from it all and still have all the amenities you will need for a great fishing vacation.

Primary Species of Fish

Cutthroat Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout

This area is home to some very good trout fishing.  Cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout are here in good numbers.  Anglers can target brook trout as well in the high elevation lakes.

Green River

The Green River is another very good river for trout fishing.  It’s gorgeous and you can find several guides that operate on this river.  It provides good action with big fish available too.  You can experience good fishing for brown trout, rainbow trout and cutthroat trout too.

New Fork River

The Green River gets most of the attention here, however, the fishing is very good on the New Fork River as well.  It is a smaller river, but still productive for cutthroat trout, rainbow trout and brown trout.

High Elevation Backcountry Lakes

If you like a little adventure, you can combine horseback riding or backpacking with some fishing in the 1,300 high elevation mountain lakes of the Wind River Range.  It definitely will take some extra effort to fish here, but it’s a peaceful remote area with some good fishing for a variety of fish such as cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, brook trout and golden trout.

Private Waters

There are privates waters in this area.  Some guides will take their clients out on some of these stretches of the river and the fishing can be very good with no people but your group.
