Boston, MA

Boston is a large and popular city in Massachusetts.  There is so much to do in the city of Boston, so you can find plenty of entertainment, fine dining, nice hotels and some outstanding outdoor recreational opportunities.

This area is known for its excellent striped bass fishing, however, there are other fish to catch here too.  Bluefish, trout, sea bass, sharks, flounder and tuna are just some of the other fish you can catch here.  Fish inshore, offshore or from shore.  You have a lot of options in this area.


Cape Cod

Cape Cod is an arm-shaped peninsula that shapes the easternmost portion of Massachusetts.   The Cape has 15 distinctive small towns along the beachfront that draws a lot of tourism during the summer months. There is plenty to do here with the arts & culture, quaint shops, fine dining, beaches, golf, boating and fishing.

The striped bass fishing is excellent off of the Cape and there are numerous fishing charters that operate out of the many towns that make up the Cape.  Fishing charters also target bluefish, shark and many other species of fish.


Gloucester, MA

Gloucester is a city located on Cape Ann in Essex County of Massachusetts.  It is a part of Boston’s north shore and it is a popular summer resort town.  You will find plenty to do here.  For the outdoor enthusiasts, boating and fishing is very popular here.

The striped bass fishing is excellent here with many charters also fishing for cod, haddock, bluefish, shark and tuna.  During the peak of the striped bass migration, the fishing can be awesome here and you don’t even need a boat for a chance to catch a giant.


Housatonic River

The Housatonic River is approximately 149 miles long and it is found in western Massachusetts and Connecticut.  It flows south to southeast and drains into the Long Island Sound.  Fishing is very popular along the entire length of the river and its tributaries.  Some parts of the river will make you feel like you are in the western United States on an amazing trout river.  Other parts of the river are better for smallmouth bass and northern pike.  As you get closer to the Long Island Sound, the striped bass fishery can be awesome.


Martha’s Vineyard, MA

Martha’s Vineyard is an island located just south of Cape Cod.  The island covers about 87 square miles and it is a very popular summer vacation destination.  Martha’s Vineyard is only accessible by boat and air, which makes it a very unique place to visit.  Fishing and boating is very popular off of Martha’s Vineyard.

The fishing is very good here with quick access to inshore waters and offshore waters, so you have a lot of options when fishing here.  There are plenty of fishing charters that target a variety of fish such as striped bass, cod, haddock, bluefish, shark and tuna.  Striped bass are king here though and during the peak of the striper migration, plan on seeing a bunch of people targeting striped bass from boats or along the beaches.


Nantucket, MA

Nantucket is an island 30 miles south of Cape Cod and just east of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.  Nantucket is a major tourist destination during the summer months.  There are plenty of places to stay to go along with plenty of activities to keep you busy.  Fishing and boating is extremely popular in Nantucket.

This area is known for its excellent striped bass fishing, however, there are other fish to catch here too.  Bluefish, trout, sea bass, sharks, flounder and tuna are just some of the other fish you can catch here.  Fish inshore, offshore or from the surf.  You have a lot of options in this area.


New Bedford-Fairhaven, MA


New Bedford-Fairhaven, MA Fishing

New Bedford and Fairhaven are 2 small coastal cities in Massachusetts.  Together, they provide a unique tourist destination as there are plenty of lodging, dining and shopping options in this area.  There is excellent fishing in the waters off these shores.  Anglers fish for striped bass, bluefish, sea trout, flounder, sharks, tuna, black sea bass and more.  There are some fishing charters that operate out of this area as well.


Newburyport, MA

Newburyport is a coastal city in Essex County, Massachusetts.  Located about 35 miles northeast of Boston, the population is around 18,000 people and it is a popular tourism destination in Massachusetts.  Whether you want to experience the beaches, dining, shopping or just get out on the water to fish and go boating, this area is an awesome destination for outdoor lovers.

This city is a popular port for fishing charters, so if you’re looking for a charter, you have plenty of options.  Anglers do well in this area for striped bass, however, there are other fish to catch here too.  Bluefish, trout, sea bass, sharks, flounder and tuna are just some of the other fish you can catch here.


Rockport, MA

Rockport is a seaside town in Essex County, Massachusetts.  With a population of around 7,000 people, the town is located about 40 miles northeast of Boston.  Rockport borders Gloucester to the west and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean in all the other directions.
