Montauk, NY

Montauk, New York, is a village at the east end of the Long Island peninsula.  It’s known for its beaches and its famous lighthouse at the peninsula’s tip.  Montauk Point State Park is home to the 1796 Montauk Point Lighthouse.

When the summer temperatures arrive, you will see plenty of people out enjoying the beaches.

Montauk is also famous for its striped bass fishing.  It is one of the best places to target large striped bass from the surf.

Some parts of the shoreline are very rocky and these rocks will not keep the anglers away from these waters.  You need to be careful while fishing these rocky areas since the waves, currents and fights from huge stripers can easily distract you from the rocks right under your feet.

There are plenty of boats in this area as well, so if you want to book a fishing charter to target striped bass, sharks and other fish, that is also an option.

Whether you choose to bring your boat out here or hire a charter, there is so much awesome water out here to fish.
