Toledo Bend Reservoir is a huge reservoir with more than 181,000 surface acres.  It is located on the Sabine River in Shelby, Sabine and Newton counties and it straddles the Texas-Louisiana state line.  The dam is in Newton County approximately 24 miles northeast of Jasper, Texas.  Its maximum depth is 110 feet.  Toledo Bend Reservoir is one of the best largemouth bass lakes in the country.



Primary Species of Fish


Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Catfish, Crappie, Bluegill

Largemouth bass are the most popular fish to target here, however, there is a very good fishery for other fish as well.  Striped bass are stocked regularly here to go along with good fishing for catfish, crappie and bluegill.

White bass fishing is good here in the spring during the spawning run.
