Rain

A light rain makes for some very good walleye fishing, especially during the day.  Lowlight conditions usually help to improve the walleye bite and more fish can be found in the shallows.  This gives anglers a big advantage.  It’s usually easier to catch walleye in 5 to 10 feet of water than it is to catch them in 20 to 40 feet of water.  Heavier rains can make fishing uncomfortable for the angler, but walleye will usually still be feeding.  If the rain comes in with a big storm front, fishing is usually more productive before the front moves in.
