This is a good area for walleye fishing.  All the main lakes have walleye and there are good numbers of them if you know how to target them.  You can find plenty of big fish in the area lakes as well.

Cedar Lake

Cedar Lake is a very good walleye lake.  With its two different sections, it gives anglers plenty of water to fish.  For many anglers, Cedar Lake is a very good numbers lake with some big fish too.

Perrault Lake

Perrault Lake is a good walleye lake, however, some anglers that come here will really struggle to catch walleye.  There are plenty of people who come here year after year and report great walleye fishing.

Wabaskang Lake

Wabaskang Lake is a very good walleye lake.  With its stained waters, many anglers report that it is much easier to catch walleye here throughout the day than the other big lakes in this area.  Good numbers of walleye are here with some big fish too.

Cliff Lake

As stated above, there are so many good walleye lakes in this area that most people do not even fish Cliff Lake for walleye.  There are plenty of walleye in the lake, but its deep, clear waters make them a lot harder to catch.  Anglers who target them here will usually end up with some quality fish, but don’t plan on getting tons of bites.

Best Baits for Walleye

Walleye eat a variety of different baits, however, when push comes to shove, it is much easier to catch them with live baits.  Minnowsnightcrawlers and leeches are definitely the best live baits for walleye.

While most anglers will just use live baits, many anglers will also target walleye with lures as well.  Crankbaits and soft plastics are the best lures for walleye, however, you can catch walleye with a variety of different lures.
