During the fall, spotted bass fishing can be quite good. Some fish will move back into the shallows, while some will stay in deeper water. Just like largemouth bass and smallmouth bass, try fishing good shallow water spots and the deep water spots too until you find a pattern for that particular day. Once the fall winds down and temperatures get cold, you will usually find more spotted bass in deeper water, very deep in clear water lakes. They will still bite, especially if you break out the lively minnows, but you may be fishing 20 to 35 feet deep on some waters.
