It’s All About the Destination
It is for every fish, but very much so for spotted bass. Because spotted bass are smaller than smallmouth bass and largemouth bass, many anglers will not target bigger spotted bass. They will just target the largemouth bass and smallmouth bass and catch a big spot as a bonus. There are some anglers that consistently target them, but to do so, you really have to get on some of these big fish waters. Many of the lakes that have spotted bass will have lots of smaller fish. If you can plan a trip to some of the better big fish spotted bass fisheries, that will be your best bet. The typical largemouth and big smallmouth bass baits will work great on bigger spotted bass. You don’t have to go real big because of their smaller mouths.
