The dam is very popular for walleye. The spring and fall are best, but the deep waters and current will hold walleye through the summer too. Fish the Current Breaks
The current breaks will hold walleye throughout the river. Some of the obvious turns and points will hold fish, but try to find some of the deeper water spots with big boulders on the bottom. These out of sight current breaks will hold some very nice walleye.
Fish the Main River Channel
The main river channel will hold walleye all year long, but the summer and fall tend to be the better times for targeting walleye in these spots. Find some big boulders in the main river channel and you’ll have better success.
Fish the Lakes
As you go farther down the river, there are a chain of lakes that offer some unbelievable fishing for walleye. The farther you go, the more remote it gets. There are some resorts down there, but you are going to have tons of water to yourself if you choose to fish this area. Some anglers report ridiculous catch rates for walleye in this part of the river system.
