Lac Seul Walleye Fishing near Ear Falls

Fish the Current

The Ear Falls area has a couple of popular current areas where you can target walleye.  The fish sanctuary is a short boat ride from the boat launch in Ear Falls and it can provide some good fishing from summer through fall.  In the spring, anglers fish the mouth of the fish sanctuary because the river itself is closed to fishing to protect the spawn.

The more consistent current area to fish is near the bridge by downtown Ear Falls.  Just downstream of the bridge, you have a short river section that produces good fishing for walleye from spring through fall.

Fish the Points

There are many points here to fish.  Whether it is a point off the mainland or off the islands, there are several of them to fish.  The wind can play a big factor with the points.  The wind blown points will usually provide the better fishing most days.

Fish the Islands

There are plenty of islands to keep you busy.  Since most are full of rocks, the wind and depth off these islands will dictate which ones are better on any given day.

Fish the Rocky Shorelines

There are large stretches of rocky shorelines that can also be quite good for walleye fishing.  The wind usually helps move the bait fish around, so fishing these rocky shorelines that are in the wind are usually more productive than the ones that are protected more from the wind.

Fish the Reefs

There are so many reefs and many of them will hold schools of walleye.  Find the reefs and try to fish right off the drop-offs and you’ll find big numbers of walleye.

Fish the Neck-Down Areas

There are many neck-down areas on this part of the lake. Depending how the wind is blowing, these areas may provide some excellent walleye fishing. Some of these spots are more well-known, but all it takes is a shifting wind that blows for a half day or more to move the bait fish around and a school of walleye into one of these areas.
