Fishing with Live Bait & Natural Baits
Pinfish are one of the most common baits that are used in the sunshine state. They are so easy to catch and so many different species of fish will eat them.
How to Catch Pinfish
A sabiki rig usually works well and it is common to catch 4 or 5 at once on these rigs. You can also just use a single hook and weight with a piece of shrimp or cut bait. A simple drop shot rig works well.
Using Pinfish as Bait
Pinfish are eaten by so many different species of fish such as grouper, snook, tarpon, sea trout, redfish, flounder and many others. Most anglers will use them on a fish finder rig, but any other live bait rig will work too. Make sure you use an appropriate size hook for the bait you are using so you can get a better hookset into some of the bigger fish that you will be catching.
