Abram Lake
Abram Lake is located at the mouth of the Marchington River and it is where the Marchington River and the English River meet. This lake provides good fishing for smallmouth bass, walleye, lake trout, muskie and northern pike. It gets less fishing pressure than some of the other lakes in this area as well.
Big Vermillion Lake
Big Vermilion Lake is a big lake with some deep, clear water. It is difficult for some anglers to fish, but if you know how to fish deep, clear lakes, you can do well here. It has some trophy fish in it and if you put in the time, you may catch walleye, lake trout, muskie, smallmouth bass and northern pike.
Botsford Lake
Botsford Lake is a narrow lake, which is great for getting out of the wind on windy days. The fishery is good and it consists of walleye, smallmouth bass, lake trout and northern pike. It is a fairly easy lake to fish and the action is usually very good on this lake.
Lac Seul
Lac Seul is one of the best drive to fishing lakes on the planet and this section of Lac Seul is known for excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, muskie and smallmouth bass. If you want to visit Lac Seul and you want to be able to catch muskie and bass to go along with walleye and pike, this is the part of the lake to visit.
Little Vermilion Lake
This lake is next to Big Vermilion Lake and the fishing here is very good. Many anglers prefer Little Vermilion to Big Vermilion because the action is usually better and there are plenty of trophy fish here as well. The smallmouth bass fishing is awesome here and you can also catch muskie and northern pike. The fishing pressure is minimal due to the lack of walleye. Most anglers come to this area to fish for walleye, so this lake is like a hidden treasure for those of you that like to target bass, pike and muskie.
Minnitaki Lake
Minnitaki Lake is a big lake with some very deep water. The fishery consists of walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, lake trout, perch and whitefish. It’s a good action lake with trophy fish too. It’s one of the better walleye lakes in the area, so if you’re looking to stay on this chain and stay off Lac Seul for the day, this is probably the lake you want to spend some time on to catch some walleye.
Pelican Lake
Pelican Lake is a good-sized lake that covers more than 5,700 acres. Water flows into Pelican Lake from Abram Lake via Frog Rapids. The English River then exits the lake on the northwest side via Pelican Falls. The Vermilion River flows into the lake on the west side.
Anglers catch lots of different fish here. The fishing is good for walleye, northern pike and smallmouth bass. Lake trout, muskie, perch and whitefish are here too.
Closs Lake
You get into Closs Lake with an easy land portage. Muskie and smallmouth bass are abundant here. Anglers catch so many fish here with 50 bass days possible and multi-fish days for muskie being common. It is truly an awesome muskie and bass lake for numbers with some bigger fish too.
Cedarbough Lake
You can access this lake by floating through a small creek. It is a very deep, cold water lake that is home to lots of muskie, northern pike, whitefish and big smallmouth bass.
Maskinonge – Hooch – Cloudlet
These 3 lakes are connected to Little Vermilion Lake via a creek system. Fishing is awesome in these lakes for muskie, northern pike and smallmouth bass. These are good numbers lakes with some big pike, bass and mostly smaller muskie.
