Muskie will eat in the afternoon, however, there is usually a better bite in the morning or evening. The early spring and late fall may be the exceptions to this. When it is really cold out, sometimes, there is a better bite during the afternoons as water temperatures warm up. Afternoon fishing can be good for muskie, especially in murky water. In clear water, it can be a little tougher as the sun gets high in the sky. Cloud cover or some rain can help the afternoon bite as well.
