Some anglers do target muskie with a fly rod. It’s not that popular, but for those of you that love to fly fish, targeting a muskie might be just for you. Just like fishing for muskie with live bait or lures, catching them on a fly won’t be super easy. Your best bet is to fish a body of water that is known for having a lot of muskie in it and the ones that have good shallow water fisheries will make it easier.
There are a variety of huge flies that are made for muskie. Some will do a great job of matching the forage and some won’t really match any of their forage, but they will still get some bites anyways.
