Hot dogs can be a very effective bait for catfish. Using a 2 to 3 inch piece of hot dog on a single hook fished on the bottom or under the bobber will entice bites from catfish. Hot dogs tend to be more effective for carp, but you will catch plenty of catfish as well with hot dogs as bait. Some better baits to use for catfish are cut bait, stink baits, cheese baits and even live shiners fished on the bottom.
