Rainbow and trout are the primary species of fish in the upper part of the lake, closer to the dam. In the warmer part of the lake, mainly below Rockaway Beach, you can find other species of fish too. Largemouth bass are the most common bass, however, smallmouth and spotted bass are present as well. Bluegill, crappie, walleye and white bass can be found in the lake too.
Spotted bass help make the bass fishery on Table Rock Lake flat out awesome. Spotted bass always seem willing to bite and with so many of them in the lake, it’s a lot easier to catch fish when fishing here. Most anglers just fish for bass and they will end up catching largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and spotted bass. Spotted bass are also here in good numbers and some quality fish are present as well. You can usually find spotted bass in deeper water in similar areas that attract smallmouth bass. Best Baits for Spotted Bass
When it comes to artificial lures, you have lots of options. Soft plastic crayfish, twin tail grubs, worms and minnow baits are effective. Hard baits such as crankbaits, jerkbaits, jigs and spinners also work great.
