Drifting is one of the most popular ways to fish for spotted bass with live bait. When the wind starts to blow, drift over a large piece of offshore structure in the summer and fall and you can catch a lot of fish. You can use lures too, but it’s tough to beat a lively nightcrawler, minnow or leech while drifting.
