The bigger lakes in the area will usually give you more potential for bigger fish and better numbers of quality fish, but don’t rule out some of the lakes where pike are here in limited numbers because some of those lakes hold some nice-sized pike. Below you will find some information on the better pike waters in this area.
Menominee River
The Menominee River flows into Green Bay and forms the boundary between northeast Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. For this page, we will be focusing on the part of the river that flows through Florence County, Wisconsin. In this area, you don’t have nearly as many flowages as you will find down south as the river runs through Marinette County, Wisconsin. You do have a lot of remote water up here with some areas that are more popular among anglers.
The Menominee River has plenty of pike in the river, however, they are secondary compared to smallmouth bass. If you target them, you should be able to catch some pike. Anglers do well on the flowages as well that are part of this river system.
We have more information on the Menominee River and its flowages on our Menominee River – Florence County, WI Fishing page.
