Spread Eagle Chain of Lakes


The Spread Eagle Chain of Lakes are known as a good largemouth bass / bluegill fishery with lots of other species of fish to catch too.  This chain is made up of 8 smaller lakes which combine to be a good-sized recreational area for boaters and anglers alike.  The lakes are beautiful and while they do get a decent amount of fishing pressure, you can catch northern pike, walleye, smallmouth bass in addition to the largemouth bass / panfish fishery.  Take a look below to learn more about the individual lakes that make up the chain.



Bass Lake


Bass Lake is a 104 acre lake located in Florence County.  It has a maximum depth of 68 feet.  Fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish. According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common.  Smallmouth bass are listed as present.



Middle Lake


Middle Lake is a 83 acre lake located in Florence County. It has a maximum depth of 54 feet.  Fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common.  Smallmouth bass are listed as present.



West Lake


West Lake is a 72 acre lake located in Florence County. It has a maximum depth of 25 feet. Fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common.  Smallmouth bass are listed as present.



North Lake


North Lake is a 79 acre lake located in Florence County. It has a maximum depth of 43 feet. Fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common.  Smallmouth bass are listed as present.  The lake water is very clear.



Long Lake


Long Lake is a 73 acre lake located in Florence County. It has a maximum depth of 75 feet. Fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common.  Smallmouth bass are listed as present.



East Lake


East Lake is a 48 acre lake located in Florence County. It has a maximum depth of 27 feet. Fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common.  Smallmouth bass are listed as present.



South Lake


South Lake is a 24 acre lake located in Florence County. It has a maximum depth of 20 feet. Fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common.  Smallmouth bass are listed as present.



Railroad Lake


Railroad Lake is a 37 acre lake located in Florence County. It has a maximum depth of 68 feet. Fish include northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye and panfish.  According to the DNR, panfish are abundant in the lake while largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye are considered common.  Smallmouth bass are listed as present.
