The Smoky Mountains is also home to smallmouth bass. The best park streams for smallmouth bass include East Prong of Little River from where it enters the park near Townsend to the Sinks and Abrams Creek from its embayment with Chilhowee Reservoir to Abrams Falls. Most of the fish you will see in the park are going to be smaller with the bulk of the population around 10 inches or less. However, anglers do report some quality catches of smallmouth bass in the 2 to 3 pound range here as well. For many anglers, the scenery combined with the fishing makes this an exceptional destination for smallmouth bass fishing. Just don’t plan on coming here to find a trophy smallmouth bass.
