Underspins

Underspins work well for smallmouth bass.  You can rig any soft plastic you want on these baits, however, most anglers report the best success by imitating bait fish such as shad, shiners and other types of minnows.

Underspin & Curly Grub Trailers

Curly tail grubs look awesome on an underspin and they work great for smallmouth bass.  Stick with the grubs in the 3 to 5 inch range and you should be able to catch plenty of smallmouth bass with these baits.

Underspin & Ringworm Trailers

The underspin and ringworm is an awesome combination for action.  You will catch some quality bass with this rig, but plan on getting plenty of action from smaller bass in between big bass bites.  This is one of the better rigs for catching a lot of smallmouth bass in slightly murky water.

Underspin & Swimbait Trailers

A small swimbait in the 3.5 to 4 inch range looks awesome on an underspin.  You can go smaller and bigger, but the 3.5 to 4 inch range seems to be just perfect for getting action with some big fish mixed in.
