Fish the Weeds
On lakes that don’t have a lot of rocks, you will usually see the smallmouth bass relate to the weeds more than on lakes with a bunch of rocks and some weeds too. On these lakes, if you don’t know how to fish the weeds, you aren’t going to catch many smallmouth bass. This is where a well-placed weedless jig will help you catch a lot more fish. Pair it with your favorite soft plastic bait or lively minnows, leeches and nightcrawlers and you will catch more smallmouth bass.
