Fishing LOTW Sioux Narrows, Ontario in the Spring

Month Avg. Air Temps °F (Hi/Lo)
March 33° / 14°
April 49° / 29°
May 63° / 43°

Because of all the cool, deep, clear water here, you won’t see water temperatures rise here as quickly on other parts of the lake.  However, there are enough shallow bays with some vegetation that will attract plenty of fish.  The smallmouth bite in the spring and early summer is outstanding here and anglers also report good fishing for northern pike too.  Walleye aren’t too far away and you can always run into some muskie and largemouth bass here as well.

Fishing LOTW Sioux Narrows, Ontario in the Summer

Month Avg. Air Temps °F (Hi/Lo)
June 72° / 53°
July 77° / 58°
August 75° / 57°

The summer patterns will set in and fish will move deeper.  However, there is so much deep water near shallow water here that you don’t really have to go too far to find fish.  Just fish the drop-offs along the shorelines and around the islands and you’ll catch plenty of smallmouth bass and northern pike.  The better walleye spots will be a farther boat ride away.  You still may see some largemouth bass in the shallows and muskie are caught in this area all summer too.

Fishing LOTW Sioux Narrows, Ontario in the Fall

Month Avg. Air Temps °F (Hi/Lo)
September 63° / 47°
October 48° / 35°
November 31° / 20°

The fall provides awesome fishing as the smallmouth bass are gorging themselves to prepare for the winter.  Pike, muskie, largemouth bass and panfish are here too, but the smallmouth bass are tough to top here, especially in the fall.  The better walleye spots are still a bit of a boat ride away, but some anglers report catching some closer to this area in the fall.  Muskie are also putting on the feedbag in the fall.  It’s just a great time to fish.  Some fish will be shallower in the bays, but for the most part, you can just fish the drop-offs along the shorelines and islands and have plenty of success.
