Inshore Fishing

The Sebastian, Florida area is home to the Indian River and the Sebastian Inlet, which helps to create an awesome inshore fishery.

Fish the Indian River

The Indian River is home to some very good fishing opportunities.  With the Sebastian Inlet here, good numbers of fish will move through the inlet and back into the waters of Indian River.  Many fishing charters will do inshore trips in the Indian River as they target snook, redfish, sea trout, flounder and other species too.  In the river, anglers have a lot of options when it comes to fishing spots.  It is a shallow water fishery in the Sebastian area, but there is some deeper water near the inlet.  In the inshore area, it isn’t deep water, but deep enough to hold good numbers of fish with some big fish too.  There are plenty of islands, some bridges, tidal creeks, mangroves, docks and flats to fish.

Fish the Sebastian Inlet

The Sebastian Inlet is a very popular fishing spot in this part of Florida.  Anglers fish the inlet from shore and there are plenty of boats out here fishing as well.  Mix in the large boats that move in and out of this inlet as they head out to the Atlantic Ocean and back and it can get crowded here.  Anglers catch snook, redfish, trout, flounder, sheepshead and many other fish in and close to the inlet.
