Saltwater Catfish

Saltwater catfish are found all over the inshore waters throughout the Gulf of Mexico and in the Atlantic Ocean.  Anglers are usually annoyed by the catfish, but if you’re just looking for some action, on some days, the catfish can save the day by always being willing to bite.

There are 2 main types of catfish in saltwater.  They are the Hardhead catfish and the Gafftopsail catfish.  The Hardhead catfish is considered terrible for eating, however, many people do actually enjoy eating the Gafftopsail catfish.

Catfish Fishing in the Sebastian, Florida Area

You will find plenty of catfish in the inshore areas of the Indian River.  You will also find them around the Sebastian Inlet, the jetties and along the surf.  They can be annoying if you don’t want to catch them or exciting to provide some action while other fish aren’t biting.
