Jacks & Pompano

Jacks & Pompano Fishing in Panama City Beach, Florida

Panama City Beach surf and nearshore waters host both jacks and pompano during seasonal runs. Jack species such as crevalle and blue runners are fast, aggressive, and strong fighters. Pompano are smaller but highly targeted for their taste and frequent appearance in the surf zone during spring and fall.

Where to Catch Jacks & Pompano

In the Panama City Beach area, jacks and pompano are caught:

From the beaches and piers, especially during baitfish migrations

Near inlets, jetties, and surf troughs

Around bridges and current edges inshore

Cast jigs and sand fleas in the surf or use live bait near schools.
