The white bass fishery has taken off on Lake Fork and for many anglers, it’s a nice addition to the lake because they can provide some awesome action when the bite is on. The white bass can be caught shallower in the spring and fall, but many anglers will target them in deeper water as they school up on offshore structure in the summer and winter months. Find a school of white bass and you’ll have plenty of action.
Spring Spawning Runs
The white bass are a lot easier to find and catch during the spring spawning runs. You can find plenty of white bass as they move out of the main lake and into the creeks and rivers throughout Lake Fork. There are a lot of anglers on Lake Fork in the spring, so you may have to work a little bit to find a honey hole all to yourself, however, many of the other boaters will be targeting big largemouth bass instead of the white bass.
Deep Water White Bass Fishing
This lake is known for its deep water fishing for largemouth bass and crappie and it is no different for the white bass. From summer through winter, you can find huge schools of white bass out in the main lake along the drop-offs. They will come shallow occasionally, however, you will have a lot more success fishing deeper water. Bring some good electronics so you can find the bait fish. If you find the bait fish, there is a good chance you will find some white bass. Don’t be surprised if you find some crappie and big largemouth bass mixed in as well since all 3 of these species will often be found feeding around these schools of bait fish.
