It is cold up here in the spring, which is great for targeting brook trout, lake trout, northern pike and walleye in shallower water. The downside is that it will be quite cool here if you plan on coming up here in the spring. Make sure to dress appropriately because you can very easily be fishing in snow flurries through the month of May.

In the summer, it is still cool here, but as summer patterns set in, the fish will move deeper. You can still find plenty of fish in the shallows in the area lakes, but if you’re targeting trout, you’re going to do better in deeper water. The walleye will move to offshore structure as well. It is quite comfortable here in the summer with temperatures feeling a lot more like spring than summer.
