Billfish

Billfish Fishing off Destin, Florida

Destin is known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” in part because of its offshore access to high-quality billfish fishing. Species like blue marlin, white marlin, and sailfish are caught in the deep waters beyond the shelf. These fast, acrobatic predators are the ultimate challenge for offshore anglers.

Where to Catch Billfish

Billfish are typically caught:

Along the edge of the Continental Shelf

In deep bluewater near the Spur, Nipple, and Desoto Canyon

While trolling temperature breaks and weedlines

Near floating debris and baitfish aggregations
