Largemouth bass are a secondary species on Lake of the Woods, however, some anglers catch some of them when targeting pike or panfish in the weeds. Some of the bays with good weed growth will attract largemouth bass. Don’t be surprised if you run into a few of them, but this is definitely not a destination to come to specifically target them.
Sabaskong Bay
Sabaskong Bay is a large bay that really fishes more like a large lake. In this bay, you have everything you could want for targeting so many different fish. Largemouth bass are present in the bay, so you may run into some of them if you fish the weeds in the bays. However, the fishing is so much better for smallmouth bass, pike, walleye and muskie.
