Welcome to Our Florence County, WI Fishing Home Page

Florence County is located in Northern Wisconsin just east of Eagle River, Wisconsin and near Iron Mountain, Michigan.  This area isn’t as well known as many other parts of Wisconsin, however, there is some very good fishing for northern pike, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and panfish in this part of the state.  Mix in the walleye, occasional muskie and trout and you have lots of options for fishing in this area.

Primary Species of Fish

The primary species of fish that anglers target in this area are smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern pike and walleye.  The fishing is probably best for northern pike, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass, however, many anglers that visit this area like to target walleye.  There are plenty of places you can fish for walleye here too.

Secondary Species of Fish

This part of Wisconsin is not known for its muskie fishing, but you can target them here in a few places and some quality fish are caught in this area.  The panfish fishing can actually be quite good on many of the lakes in this area, but you will have to sort through some smaller fish to find the bigger fish that are great for the frying pan.  Trout are also available if you’re interested in doing some river fishing for trout.
