Lake Trout

Lake Nipigon is known for having a world class lake trout fishery.  There are good numbers of them in the lake with some very big fish too.  The trophy lake trout is what puts this lake on the map.  Early in the spring and late in the fall, you can catch plenty of them shallower like you would fish for bass, which is very appealing to lake trout anglers.  When the water temperatures are warmer, it is typical lake trout fishing so break out the jigs and trolling gear.  This lake is huge, so come prepared if you plan on fishing the offshore waters here.
