Perch

In many of the lakes, perch will be the primary panfish.  On some lakes, the fishing can be very good for perch, while on others, the bite may be limited at best.  This area has so many lakes to fish and some of the harder lakes to access will have some very good fishing for perch if you can get on them.

Agimak Lake

Agimak Lake is a decent-sized lake with a nice swimming beach right in town.  It has several islands, bays, points and channels that provide good fishing for walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike and perch.

Indian Lake

Indian Lake is a good-sized lake with lots of bays, points and some islands too.  There is a variety of fish on Indian Lake, however, walleye and northern pike are the primary species of fish.  You may also catch perch, smallmouth bass, lake trout and whitefish.

Kukukus Lake

Kukukus is large lake with lots of productive water to fish.  Walleye, northern pike and perch are here and big fish are not uncommon either.  Inflowing streams hold a lot of walleye and pike early in the year with the offshore structure holding a lot of fish during the summer and fall.  There are plenty of weedy bays for pike fishing, but the islands and points will hold lots of pike too.

Mameigwess Lake

Mameigwess Lake has deep water and it is known as a good lake trout lake.  Most anglers fish this lake for lake trout, but there are some big northern pike here too with smallmouth bass, perch and brook trout rounding out the fishery.

Sandbar Lake Provincial Park

This park is known for its sandy beach with gently sloping swim area, which is great for kids.  Sandbar Lake provides good fishing for northern pike, walleye, smallmouth bass and perch.  The park is a starting point for canoeists that are seeking some challenging routes with good fishing for northern pike, walleye and smallmouth bass in the area lakes.
