Freshwater Lakes
There are several lakes to fish in the Tallahassee, Florida area. Lake Talquin gets the most attention from bass anglers, but you have options to fish other lakes too. Anglers catch largemouth bass, striped bass, crappie, bream and catfish.
Saltwater Fishing
Tallahassee, is close to some very good saltwater fishing. This part of Florida is not as popular of a saltwater fishing destination, so you won’t find all the services you will find in other parts of Florida, however, there are enough boat ramps and fishing charters to get you into some excellent fishing. This is a shallow water fishery close to shore, so plan on fishing a lot of grass flats for inshore species such as sea trout, redfish, flounder and more.
